Good idea.. I think your problem with the match is in the lighting.. The light on the legs, right hand and the head comes from the right and the light on the new body comes from the front.. Try to change the positions of the blinks on the muscles..

What Ivan said. Once the lighting is improved, consider solving your color matching problem by completely desaturating the original statue. Then tweak the brightness and contrast. Fwiw.

Or you can make a selection on the body and try using soft brush with very low opacity and paint it. Use the color picker to pick a color within the statue.
