I start with 2 solid layers, painting on the blue layer mask to reveal 'clouds' beneath. The cave and sand are from source - lots of cloning and warping to meet the perspective, group the pieces and overlay the group on the blue layer.

Aladdin is freehand... I don't do feet well so notice his feet are obscured, lol. Then it's just some adding color and highlights. My cpu (not the 1 in my pc) is failing - I can still chop but it takes a loong time. Your jobs are secure. :)
