I think what he was getting at is if the umbrella is back, the sun is coming from that direction.... thus the lighting should match this. My biggest issue is the gopher is sitting on the side of the shell. he'd fall off if this were the case.

Cap should shadow head. Umbrella should shadow shell and part of groundhog. Look at shadow on left leg.
