one suggestion:seeing how cool the right hand part of the sky looks and how dark and undefined the left part is maybe would look a lot better making all the top blue sky and getting rid of most of the dark trees on left...shouldn' t take too long to do :
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
*Updated, Your right Luxwiz. I was probably to quick because I had 2 layers of the creased fabric on 'Hard Light'. I put one of them on 'Lighten' 50%, now the shadowing isn't too dark and the darker parts (trees) are more clear with the fabric. :)
Luxwiz Luxwiz
yup much better, now you can see the creases on the left side too...nice use of the displacement map :)
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Thanks, did a small update again, I did the 'Lighten' layer just on 100% so it looks more real I guess.

Nice idea, I wonder if admitting it took less than 3 minutes will work against you.

Look for unrealistic deformations - see the letters near the front of the boat.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Well I don't know Vicspa, thought It was nice to post a quick 3-minute tutorial, I was in 'ultra' speed chop I guess. True vokaris, I noticed some unrealistic displacements too, but its suppose to be a ultra-quick one I guess... ;)
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Very quick Google! :P https://www.google.nl/search?q=creased+fabric&es_sm=122&biw=1920&bih=955&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&e i=uoAlVefdLdbravy6gNAJ&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ#imgrc=4XihXLbInAlr5M%253A%3BaxoeTk7dNTUPvM%3B

Don't get me wrong senzotaku, for anything under 5 minutes of photoshop, this is pretty terrific, no matter how much anyone nitpicks. I'm sure you got a winner here, and a good lesson in displacement technique.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
No problem vicspa, was wondering the same thing. I did some entries spending hours and turned out to be a lot more crappy, haha! :)
Eve Eve
You'll have to wait until Vokaris gets old and can't see so well...lol
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Haha yes Eve, and wise enough to understand it was more to show what you can achieve with just one quick displacement... no big deal :)
vokaris vokaris
The thing that bugs me is that the fabric has big overlapping folds, but the geometry in the image remains almost straight. This is a more realistic representation: [img] i.imgur.com...
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
It's suppose to be ultra quick - with the displacement filter, your somehow irrelevant to that. Of course I could made it more realistic with more execution, and lets say the source image is expanded ok? Btw nice job on the printed creased one :)
TJ TJ
Very cool chop! Congrats!!!

Congratulations!

Cool congrats! :)

Thanks very much! :)

So this it all it takes to win a contest here now? It's a crying shame.

congrats :D

LOL AT ANFA! 8-D
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Thanks again... anfa! Haha! no I'm not very proud on this one either because of the execution time. But the result in comparison is nice I guess :)
anfa anfa
Mate, I think what bothers me most is that it's one of those lazy ideas that isn't specific to the given source. Like framing it and putting it on a wall or turning it into a pencil drawing. It's sort of more of an added effect than an idea/concept.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
I agree it's an effect instead of a concept, but it's not like 'forbidden'. Let me be honest with you, I didn't had a idea for this speedchop - so I made it a speedchop, with a nice little trick.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
I also tend to do all entries this month, my mechwarrioress entry compensates the execution and idea part I guess. And btw I assume you forgot to hit the vote button there because it's a comment. :)
anfa anfa
Yup! I did mean to vote on that chop and no it doesn't compensate the execution and idea part. It's a different contest.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Okay thanks, right it doesn't compensate this one, meant from my perspective. I could do this with each entry... but that's not something for which we would be thanked I guess :P
anfa anfa
HAHA! OK, I'll yet you get back to your chopping. lol
