itīs a hologram KC not real life... the whole hologram is projected right below the drone so the sense of depth is shortened,itīs a perspective illusion,look at the Tie fighter on the left see how tiny it is... because itīs supposed to be far away,

the guy is much farther back from the woman in the hologram reality,whereas the projected image is contained to the space just below the drone... kind of like a 3 D screen

ok the guy is not standing beside her,he is virtually about10 mts.behind her, and the explosion is virtually another 20 or 30 mt further back..and sure holograms project shadows and whatever is recorded just like movies or videos but in 3D...

with your line of thinking then the Tie fighter should be huge,the guy is smaller because he is further back is all...this is sci-fi so donīt try to rationalize it so much...and of course holograms of the future can cast shadows and vote ballots as well

I know what you are saying, BUT, the perspective in our world (viewers POV) and perspective in the hologram are different, and that's why it looks wrong IMHO of course. I don't want to keep going on this because we'll be beating a dead horse.

Agree With vicspa...he looks like a midget? its the railings giving the perspective not your hologram? he's only 2 railings behind? so when the eye follows the line of perspective he looks odd?

you are right thanks for the perspective lesson... I think jelly got it right I agree itīs the railing as reference external to the hologram that makes him seem smaller rather than farther back... and Vic nice job on the fix...def much better :)

I agree with Kay Cee and vicspa. . . the guy is too small for being so close plus holograms are projections of light so there wouldn't be shadows.

LED TVīs are projections of light on a screen to create a 2D image,and you see shadows on the tv monitor,holography is also the projection of an image but in 3D so shadows would be possible as an IMAGE not real shadows of light itself,and thus possible..

It makes sense LUX but the shadow under the guy fooled my perception :-) - maybe the hologram needs like 70% opacity so the rails behind are slightly visible :-)

maybe the holograms of the future will create the sense of solidity so the objects in them wont be transparent,however Iīll check out later if lowering the opacity helps,thanks
