The original has shadows and little to no reflections, yours has reflections and no shadows. My only nitpick, is the reflection on the green top box, it's not reflecting the way it should.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Thanks! The original has multiple shadows/light sources (3/4), also from above, for instance, the shadow from the big yellow one would disappear after the transformation right? I did use drop shadows where the lids touching the ground though.
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
I wasn't sure about the shadows, I tried a couple, but they didn't look real to me, instead I added reflections. But I wasn't completely sure about them either. So the green one should be in line with the lid right?
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
My idea was, where the lids leaving the ground, the reflection moves away from it. I updated the reflections, but I'm still not sure about the shadowing...

great job, so much work!
Luxwiz Luxwiz
actually a reflection is basically a mirror image with perspective tweak, the blue and green boxes should reflect straight down too,not on an angle
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Right Luxwiz, a mirror image with perspective tweak, where angle and shape are key I guess. Reflections for flat (2d) / ground objects from a straight angle are easy, but with curved 3d objects / leaving the ground from a bird's-eye view its much harder
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
On closer inspection, the reflexion of the left sides from the blue and green boxes should go the opposite diagonal way, I guess. If someone is interested, download the ps-file at netster.nl/lids.psd - I'm pretty done with it... :D
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Haha! You sure about that CHOWDAH, maybe the 2nd entry is with star-shape lids... ;)
itsCHOWDAH itsCHOWDAH
I doubt anyone will enter. You did a great job. Tough to beat. Hs ha... But star shapes may do it. This is a deserved win. Great details. Lots of work.

I tried a quick edit of the blue and green lids reflection and shadows: [img] i712.photobucket.com...
<senzotaku> <senzotaku>
Nice job! I figured the side reflections should be mirrored. So they go through each other where they touch, so I understand, thanks Luxwiz! :)
Luxwiz Luxwiz
anyhow really fine work on squaring the circles senzo :)
TJ TJ
Nice job on the reflecs, Luxwiz. I'm not sure about the green one though. Would we even see the right side reflection or the inside of the lid? If we did see the side, than it should be on a angle because it's sitting on the gray lid.
TJ TJ
I'll give it a shot when I get home from work. Regardless, this is a awesome chop, Senzo! Fav'd!

Thanks for the Fav'd TJ! :)
Luxwiz Luxwiz
yeah Todd I think you are right about the angle of the green lid reflection as it goes up over the grey one... I kinda had it change from reflection to shadow as it raised and approached the grey lid
Luxwiz Luxwiz
Todd your links dont work for some reason
