wanted to blur everything but the frame, and tried to sharpen the frame. didn't achieve the effect I was hoping for :P

you did actually, frame is not blurred, but the rest is. It's just a matter of selecting the frame, putting it on a separate layer, and then you can do whatever with background.

Yeah, I know, it worked, but not to the extent I was hoping for. I just created 2layers, blurred top then erased the blurred frame to get the unblurred frame. then tried to sharpen and lighten the frame. think I had wrong layer selected. meh live n lea
