Make a flat copy of the image, convert it to b/w, then put a sepia tone to it and all colors will match as one.

Look at Bob’s entry, not same as source, but an even overall sepia tone.

Try the levels filter and turn down white a touch. It might help.

I tried sepia, but it's far too yellow, so I adjusted it. I don't have white on my filters.
