Mo - on many LCD's (laptops, flatscreens) it helps to look at a high and then low angle as well as straight on - also adjusting contrast - I actually didn't know I had a big blank spot on one post once because my too high contrast washed it out. Great pic

IMHO - it's not too light...any darker and you would have lost some of the nicer tones :)
