I get the reflection thing but I dont understand why it looks like the tools were split in half.

yes, the tools are split in half - it's a comment on their symmetry. as for the cup - It was done, but being vertical it did not fit with the others and the symmetry theme, so I just put the dashes on it. The cup reflection is it's own symmetry I guess. W
