Try Layers/Matting/Defringe to get rid of the little bit of white left around your cutout

Photoshop elements doesn't have a Defringe command, but I just figured out how to do the same thing and save myself an hour of cleanup next time. But in 3 steps. 1st in the layers tab, right click on the Icon for your roughly cleaned layer and select

the bad cut-out is gone now ... but i always use a mask to cut out my pics ... always works great and clean but this time i was to hasty ... cutting out with a mouse is sometimes apain in the ass ... going for a tablet is my next step ...
