Really late entry. But hopefully someone will see it. This was experimentation with shadow and reflection. Freehand painted the reflection elements.

I've had this done to me before. Seeing as nobody else wants to comment, I'll try to do it as fully as possible. There are a few points for me to make. The first is that not many people would think of using the horn in that way. Very creative

Now, on to more stuff. I don't know if you meant it or not, but I can see the flame within the horn being perfectly real. If that little black stripe in it is from another picture and was unintentional, it doesn't matter, because it fits.

The reflection around the man's fingers is fantastic, and the placement of the horn into the ear looks correct. Now onto the things you could improve on: first, the horn's color could have been changed to better match the picture. It looks okay,

Overall, this is a great job in the way of realism. However, going a different path might have been better. I'm by no means a Photoshop expert, but I know good work when I see it. And this is good work. Go here: altmed.creighton.edu/ear/experiment.

Thanks UncleBuck and yomar! Any constructive feedback is great even the negative stuff. I agree with the color of the horn. I played with it quite a bit before, frankly, giving up to work on the reflection details.

Also the flame is real and from the original picture (image search google for ear candling and you're sure to find it) I kept the black line as I thought it fit too. Nice to see that yomar caught the red and the head in the reflection!
