Beautiful austerity!
Beautiful austerity!
I appreciate the austerity of this image which I believe is more powerfully communicated using a B&W color scheme. I like the rugged beauty of the lonely,isolated,cold and snow covered mountain pass.

Pat ya missed the fact that the chop is rather seamless, well positioned and a bold use of black and white, the inturpretation is up to the observer...If the viewer has a limit on there scope of imagination should not be taken away from a quality chop.

Nice image, Patre -- looks like you put much thought into it (as you probably do all your images). The one thing I would avoid is transforming the source too much; in this case, the original source looks overly shrunk, vertically. Just a suggestion. :)

WTF
Patre Patre
Pedder,I appreciate your viewing and commenting on this image.However, I must confess that I am bit baffled by your comment. Please help me by clarifying what you meant by "wtf". Perhaps I could have made a better lighting adjustment and/or

WTF = What the Fu*k = I don't understand your image!
Patre Patre
Pedder, Here is an explanation of the image as I view it. The snow blowing machine is sitting near the end of a tunnel which is located at the top of a snowy mountain pass. The operator of the machine is outside of the tunnel and off of the vehicle in
Patre Patre
Hi again Pedder, in this very austere, lonely, but beautiful setting. It is ironic that he is spending time clearing a road which will probably be under ten feet of snow again in a very short period of time and unfit for any type of travel in the near f

future. Another point of interest for me is the fact that the type of weather that contributes to the scene's beauty also prevents most people from viewing it. I liked the stark contrasts. For example the dark black of the cliffside rocks and the ins

his world seem so small when compared with the breadth and beauty of the winter scene in which he stands. I thought that the B&W color scheme really highlighted these ironies and contrasts because when either ideas and/or colors are contrasted, the divid

sorry pedder but you can not understand because you don't look optimistic and you can't see wonderfull
