This might need a bit of an explanation. In the Netherlands we have a Sinterklaas tradition, not to be confused with Santaclaus, though this is quite similar. We mostly call Sinterklaas by his nickname: Sint. This Saint comes with his horse to bring

presents for al kids. In return kids write letters and poems to Sint and put a carrot in thier shoes for Sints horse.
