I'm ashamed and annoyed to remember the six months I spent living in Kentucky. Beautiful scenery, that's for sure. My first day there, someone said to me, "You'll notice that a lot of people in this neighborhood look like a lot of people in this neighborhood." Took me three days to figure out what he was talking about! Then I was in utter shock as I realized that all those Kentucky jokes actually came from somewhere...like What is the hardest question on the Kentucky bar exam?
Answer: If your parents get divorced, are they still brother and sister?
Ahem. Kidding aside, I learned something really powerful in Kentucky that I never knew before that: wherever you go, and I mean WHEREVER you go, there are always cool people to hang out with. Kentucky has some neat land sculptures, and if you're into camping and nature, you'll love it.
Just make sure you keep brushing your teeth. And if your bangs require more than a can of hair spray to make them stand up, it's time to move on out of there. Like everything else, it's probably not as bad as you fear...but it's probably not as good as you hope.
