Thanks, Tofu! Odd thing... I thought there might be something special about the out-of-order articulated lorry servicing strut, and I tried to buy it, but it wouldn't let me! I had 260 mil. gold--more than enough. So, I bought the ray gun instead.

Anyone know anything about that lorry strut? Seen a couple of cockles with it. I've beaten too many who have the "big guns" to really care what I have... must be all in the stats and computer-generated odds, etc.

I've seen only a couple with it (around level 188). I did see a post in the message board saying that you couldn't buy it but I think it's an inside joke in the game.

Seriously though. If you haven't won against someone in 4 turns then you'll waste your 5th turn if you win as you don't get anything anyway. So stop at four and then attack that cockle the next day.

yeah. It just turned into a pride issue after about the 6th one. I just had to beat you to get my hands on some of that coveted GOLD. And then of course it said that I had already beaten you, which was a special slap in the face to punish my dilligence.
I still don't get the "trick" and only come across a million + cockle every 50 turns or so. Sure sure I know about the NPC cockles because some of them have a ton of gold or give a bunch of xp. But I see no pattern in which ones actually have it.
Also, by the time I see the lists here, the cockles have already disappeared....
You're right, though about using so many turns.

Anyway, how do you know if you have "fought somebody recently"? You weren't on my recent battles list, and I don't remember having beaten you since like last week...

What what? Sure you do! For example, it usually takes me like 8-10 turns to beat Zebob, but I always pull 6-9 million gold depending on how much he has-- something that would normally take me several days to do.
