We should probably think about making it 9:00. I don't think they'll seat ya until everyone's there, and mere can't get around until at least 8:30. What do you guys think? That way we can say, "Look, the more the merrier, but at 9pm we get a table."

We could split the difference & make it 8:30, and drink at the bar until everyone arrives...

Sounds good to me, although I don't know how available the bar is there--I've only ever gotten a table at that place. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, they were using every freaking square inch of the place. I mean, the tables are about two inches apart, for real. The guy brought out that tiny rolling cart to make us the guacamole at the table, and they had to stop seating for a couple of minutes because no one could get through.

You think I'm exaggerating to make a humorous point...when James and I were there last, my husband was rather nattily clad in a Dare to resist drugs and violence t-shirt. He's British, remember, so he's enjoing the same type of ironic-novelty value that we Yanks associate with, say...a t-shirt with a Marmite jar on it. Anyway, turns out that the fellow sitting at the "next" table, about two inches to the north of us, was the cop who actually heads up the Dare program for all of Suffolk County! Imagine our delight!

What about meeting at a nearby bar first (where we'll have more room to hang out), then head to burrito loco when everyone shows up. This may work well for anyone who isn't sure exactly what time they'll get there, and spare the early arrivers having to stand outside the restaurant or fight crowds inside.

Can't think of a specific bar offhand, but I'm happy to take a walk over there at lunch today and see what's on that block (it's only about a 10 min. walk from my office).

Well, tonight's the night! Satan has arrived, and is ready to hit the town. Burrito Loco is located at 168 W 4th Street in the Village. The number is 212-242-9338. Meet outside at 9 o'clock.

I'll probably check this somewhere around 6 pm. Anyone needing better directions or more info PM me before then...otherwise, you can see the photos next week!

If you're reading this, with the ability to get to Burrito Loco tonight, and you're hemming and hawing about whether or not you should go, I say this: Get Real. Make whatever small effort needed to get yourself there.
