Some well made points here Caldera and everything was going swimmingly until you got to the Rooney bit. If you watched carefully you would have seen Rooney doing his damndest to win the ball in spite of two defenders trying to hack him down, unlike Brazil's Ronaldo he did try to stay on his feet and if the Argie ref had given the free kick to Rooney on one of the three opportunities he had, Rooney would not have been sent off. I can assure you that the lad will not get crucified in the UK and that comes from a Manchester City fan (Man United's bitter rivals) but lady boy Ronaldo most certainly will. This Portuguese fancy Dan is the opitomy of the points you made constantly feigning injury and diving like Michael Phelps.
I do agree that the diving and feigning injury in the game has to be stopped. Stopping the game and using video evidence is not the answer as it would start to resemble American Grid Iron, God forbid. The game is a very simple one, only the players who cheat spoil it for the rest of us.
COME ON FRANCE......

Buffon makes a brilliant save from Podolski. From the corner kick the ball
is picked up by Pirlo to who finds Grosso with a superb pass. Grosso then
bends a fantastic shot out of Lehmann's reach into the far corner of the net.
WOW that was a surprise. Two goals in the last two minutes of extra time sends Italy into the World Cup Final on Sunday. Great game, fantastic goals and a brilliant exhibition of how to referee a game by the Mexican ref.

yep that was fast , brilliant and well deserved those 2 goals... i think the frenchies are more "scared" (thats not really the word to use) by Italy than by Portugal by the way...

Ja, ja italy has been the better team and the win was well deserved. It wouldn't have been right if we would have won that penalty.
As host of the games we accept that someone is better than us and leave the field in a fair mode. So.....
...come on FRANCE!

a brilliant game though. The sports stations haven't stopped talking about it here in the UK all day. It put our piss poor team into perspective again.

Memo to goalie from France ... it is legal to CATCH the ball  This can't be the best keeper France has, is it? Looks like he's trying to handle a hot potato.
Also, if Henry was the one fouled how come he didn't wasn't the one to take the free kick? Goofy rule if you can choose anyone to take the kick rather than the player fouled.
Also part II, I think Portugal's reputation for taking a dive has worked against them. Seems like even when they got fouled, it was not getting called.
And say what you want about Ronaldo of Portugal, but he looked like the best player on the field to me.
Oh, and congrats France ... looking forward to the finals.
