My optical mouse has died after 8 years of service. I'm using a hunk-a-junk 'classic' mouse and it is already driving me mad. I want to buy an Graphics Tablet. Looks like I can get a cheapy Pablo for the lowest price, and Wacom's are more expensive but are probably a more sophisticated tool. Anybody use a tablet?

My mouse died after much use, and abuse, by me so I changed to a tablet/pen combo. I have a Wacom Volito2 which is great for PsC because you have finer control. Don't know about the other sort, but i'll stick to my Wacom.
Don't know if this helps or not, but there you are.

Wacom Intuos series is the way to go, I recommend either the A4 one for widescreen monitors, or the A4 Oversize if you have a large (19inch and over) screen.
but if your budget doesn't stretch to £300 - £500 ($500 - $750) price tags, then the A5 and A6 models are perfectly compitent

go cintiq... if you got the money
Anyway, been using a tablet over 2 years now.. couldn't live without it. I actually don't use a mouse anymore (even not the one provided with the tablet) or it should be for some games (which don't always support the pen)

A good thing to consider. I'll be using dual monitors. So it'll be like using a widescreen 24inch.

A lot of people (myself included) get along with the A6 tablet a LOT better than the larger ones as then you only need to make small movements with your gripping fingers rather than using the wrist and arm.,,it's handy coz the a6 tablets are a lot cheaper.
I have a mark one Intuos and it's still perfect. The budget Wacom Graphires/Volito's have exactly the same specifications as the original Intuos series..so by that token I would comfortably recommend the budget line.
