Does anybody else have problems with photoshop with a dual monitor setup. I have a Dell Latitude with an additional monitor for extra desktop space. The problem I'm having is when I drag windows over to the right side monitor any other open graphic windows get "erased" when I drag the new window over them, as if I was using the reaser tool. It doesn't actually change the file at all, it's just not visible anymore. It doesn't matter if I set the right monitor to my laptop screen or the monitor screen. It happens on both. Is it my graphics card or am I missing some setting within photoshop? please help, I need the extra space to combine a large amount of pictures.

I have a Dell D600 notebook and use dual monitor all the time. Never ran into what you're describing but it sounds like a refresh problem.

What OS are you running (XP, Vista, etc.)? You may need to look into the latest drivers for your video card.

I'm using windows xp service pack 2. I looked into the refresh properties and changed the rate. Still no luck. Thanks for the suggestion though. I got the most recent drivers directly from dell also. no change. Any other ideas?

Is your Latitude a D600 or later model? What graphics chipset is in it? I have a Radeon Mobility 9000 adapter. When I went dual monitor I had to get the drivers/software directly from ATI and not from Dell.

At the moment I can't remember what the software is called though. Sad

I can find out tomorrow and post the link back in this thread.

So I found out my chipset is an intel i830, so I went to the intelpage and got an updated driver. Works like a dream now. Thanks for your help and input on this problem. Dual monitors rock.
