I went to Arcade Fire's show saturday. Tough to descibe how this band is unbelievable.
In few words... intensity, love, urgency, power.
To see & feel all the energy, with "non stop" subtilities those 9 musicians brought with some bizarre or impressive instruments like a big church organ.
I was on a sort of high adrenaline buzz after the show (weird!?)... I just haven't got enough!
But they performed in one of the worst place a band can play, where rarely musical events appear. I heard + red few times critics about the bad sound & echo there... so I arrived 4 hours before the show and I was just first in front of stage. The sound was really good there. I took those pictures. On the last one, you can somewhere feel the athmosphere...

Yeah yeah yeah, blah blah blah.....Damnit Claf ,ya lucky bastard ...and right up in front too ...I'll bet it was good....for sure. I hope I can catch them next time around. Good show pics.....................glow stripes.
I guess you could describe them as an "aural sculpture" (I didnt just think that up...it's the name of an album by The Stranglers )
I don't think I'll ever tire of their music.

Claf, here's the picture of Cayo Coco, I shot it about 2 years ago, its only a few hundred miles from me,
check out the same image from Google Earth
Those Arcade Fire pics were killer I need to go back a few pages and see what else I missed, I still need to download my pictures from the Italy/Sicily trip, I got over 400 shots, and a lot of good ones too, I'll throw some on later, I have one particular shot for this thread
"Home" Michael Buble
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDQnkYwfNfk
The last day of the trip I was in Rome, waiting to go to the airport and this song was playing on Mtv, I hear he sounds like Sinatra in some of his other stuff, I'm not really into his sound, but it was something that hit close to home at the time.
The Fray " How To Save A Life"

This guy reminds me of Joe Jackson in a way, what do you think
And did someone already post this? Did I?

Yesss...I saw TOOL on their Lateralus tour. WOW!! They had those contortionists (one of their vids.)on stage that just amped the strangeness and intensity of it all.
"Undertow" is definitely my second fave after of course the much more matured sound of "Lateralus" IMO
Sober

Hey Paul!
Welcome back!
I figure maybe you can start a new thread about travels & pictures.
Thanks for your Cayo Coco picture.
About music...
NIN, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Machine Of Loving Grace were some great bands I listened to in the 90s.
I'm back with other Norvegian new jazz, a new video on YouTube. Audun Kleive & Christian Wallumrod jamming at Bugge Wesseltoft studio. They are coming in Montréal in early July... I'll not miss it!
