Hello all!
I'm trying to get my head round quite a complicated action, I have a large batch of images I need to edit, I already know how to make an action, but my problem is that i am going to be:
1. Duplicating the original image
2. cropping selected area,
3. resizing from 36x36 to 7x5
4. saving new image
5. close both new and original images
Any help at all would be very much appreciated.
I hope someone here knows how to help, because if you lot can't, no one can!
Many thanks,
Rob.

Rob,
I don't know if anything here will help with the cropping, but you may want to take a look: http://www.dirfile.com/freeware/bulk-image-resize.htm
You may want to try Googling "batch image convert crop resize" or the like. Add "source forge" or "open source" and you may find something that fits your needs.
Of course PS may have some nifty utility that does what you require, but I don't have PS.
Good luck.

I think Picasa can do this minus the cropping part.

you can save a selection of the area you crop, that is if the cropped area is the same for every pic. Select the desired area then Select>save selection.

you could insert a stop action if you need to crop each picture individually.
