aww thanks whim... to be honest I had no clue there was fires roasting up my neighbors... I been so into my work I barely have time to watch tv or read the news.

My brother,his wife and two kids live in Valencia Cal.Our mother who lives in Miami phoned last night and said
they had to evacuate their home last night.I still don't know much else since I have yet to speak personally to him.As far as I know so far they are fine but leaving your home and belongings behind is no fun.A month ago the town where I live,Almuñecar in southern Spain was hit with a flash flood causing widespread devastation,30 M. € in damages,hundreds of motor vehicles written off and one person drowned in his garage trying to save his car.I guess we have to look on the positive side of things and consider ourselves lucky that me and my family weren't affected personally by the flood but until further news I'm a little worried about by brother in L.A.I just wonder ¿what's next?Does anyone here live near or around Valencia Cal. that can fill me in on any further news?Also I hope none of you that live in the vicinity of the fires are in any danger or have to be evacuated.

Morning news stated that a lot of San Diego residents are coming to the Palm Springs area--less than 3 hours away & from Lake Arrowhead 1-1/2 hrs. away. Many local hotels are offering them 50% off lodging.

But it looks like the winds have calmed a lot and maybe now they can get some control on things, now that they can get the helicopters up and working. Plus the military finally sent in some big guns, large hold water planes.

But SD now has 3 fires going one south by border with mexico.
One burning through northern SD county and almost to Del Mar, and now one up close to Camp Pendleton the marine base that separates SD county from Orange county.

The bad thing with the winds calm is that the smoke sets and goes no where.
