Can anyone explain why trying to resubmit a horizontal image of 1280x960 as 720x960 doesn't work? The submission seems to go through without any errors, but doesn't show up despite a cache refresh. In the past I was eventually able to make it work, but something seems amiss.

If one submits 720x960 the first time, there isn't a problem. I've seen 1280x960 cropped to 960x960 and reposted with no problems.

Maybe the actual image you see, at 960 x 960 was placed on a white background that is 1280 x 960, that will take the problem away.

Regarding HORIZONTAL vs. VERTICAL, I just want everyone here to know that I'm okay with either.

DIAGONAL can tend to put my back out though....

I think you should be able to go right down to 550 x 960 if you wanted.

I've tried and can only do a minimum of 800px x 960px

You should be able to do 720x960. I've done it many times. "Moonlit Stroll" is one example.

The problem always seem to be after one has posted a 1280x960 image and then proceeds to edit the image by replacing it with 720x960.

Maybe one of these would allow you to take a walk on the diagonal side.
