hey guys i have a question about the source pic for 3-31-08.

after downloading it from psc i saved it as file name "m 3-31-08.jpg" . when i went to open it up in ps cs it gave me an error message.... the message reads as " the document "m 3-31-08.jpg" has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space. The embedded profile will be used instead of the working space."

Embedded: adobe rgb (1998)

Working: sRGB IEC61966-2.1

then gives me the option to... don't show, cancel, or ok.

i hit ok it opened just fine, i was wondering if anyone else got it or knows what it means? thanks

the image probably had an ICC profile embedded in it when it was taken. The icc profile is basically a color adjuster that's embedded in the image to maintain accurate colors based off the camera or whatever made the profile. That way when you print the pic or work on it and keep the embedded profile then it will print the true colors when done. Unfortunately the way you have your PS set up in this case differs from the icc that is in the image so that's why you got the question. That means that your PS profile may not look at that image accurately but it will still print ok. That's a ton of techy crap that I hope makes sense. I deal with them all the time at my job.

but then how do people orginize an image? say if you want to update? then it seems like it would be organized differently. i like my layers labeled and my source pic saved seperatly in case something happens like lost files etc... just another question.

Their viewer includes file 'fixing' tools. Used them a few years ago to repair a few pictures that went to poop.
