I can not believe the amount of talent on this site. For example rey rey and claf, simply amazing work.

TUTORIALS....

Here, and all over the internet. Search for "free photoshop tutorials" and you'll be bombarded by them. I never did a paid tute or a class, because there are so many free ones available to get you started.

My favorite one so far is the "displaced water" one here at PSC. It is a really fun effect, very realistic, and has a lot of uses.

Keep using all the source images here to practice those tutorials on. Where else can you have someone hand you free images to maniplulate like that? Copyright infringement now-a-days, etc, people will freak if you are using their images off of flickr or photobucket. Take advantage of just having such a variety of sources to use.

I've seen many topics on this but i want to know whether you guys recommend using graphics tablets, i have my eye set on the wacom bamboo fun. Just wondering whether wacom is the way to go etc...

I highly recommend the graphic tablets. I own the bamboo fun, and I have to say it's a great little tablet for the price. Once you get using it, you can't stop. It's a bit awkward at first, but practice and you'll get the hang of it. Like me, I'm sure you'll want to upgrade after a while, but the Bamboo fun is a great way to start out. And yes, it's fun like the name implies.
