 nice L@rue!
Dew'd really cool looking. Dang if you haven't come a LONG way from when you first got here.
Let's see some PSDs people! Or some mini-tuts on how you did what you did.

I know it's taken forever but here's my first draft. I'm trying to go for cold cranberry juice cocktail (one of my favorite drinks).
Started by cutting out the glass with the pen tool (selection feathered to 1 pixel). Then adjusted the hue on the glass and cut out the rim opening to be a bit more realistic. Added a color layer and various adjustments to get the color more "cranberry-ish". Put a hue overlay for the table color casting. Added an image of condensation drops. PSD

Oh - the PSD? here: http://www.ReinOgraphy.com/PSC-2008/Tofu's_Glass-PSC_small.PSD
NOTE: I had a bunch of Smart Filters and Smart Objects in it, but I've flattened those parts so folks using PS7 and CS can view the rest of the file's layers. Main trick to do this is waiting long enough for the beer to go flat (about 10 minutes or so! ) How could I have forgotten to give RECOGNITION to this work!?! Personally I can't wait to get into the PSD.
Rein I always love your Photoshop work.

Cut out the rim opening to be a bit more realistic...... ......Thanks for the compliment Tofu, but it's these kind of LITTLE DETAILS that let me know just how far i still have to go. I'll have to sign up to Tutorme's site to load the PSD. Not sure it would do anyone any good.....it's not too hard to see what is external.

Again, that PSD is missing some tricks with the smart objects and the smart filters (mostly controlled blurring and such)... but the main ideas are there.
REMEMBER: I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I'M DOING (like ScionShade does) ! !

Question... The "vignette" layer is an exposure adjustment layer with a mask. I can hide/show the layer and see that it's affecting the exposure levels. But, to my viewing, it looks like the settings are the defaults (exposure=0, offset=0, gamma=1). Is this a side-effect of the flattening for CS2/7.0? How is this layer working at the default settings?

A VERY good question, and I think you'll like the answer!
Many people copy a layer above the current layer. Then they set the upper layer to "Overlay" or "Soft Light" or "Screen" - whatever. The drawback to this is you've now got twice as much bitmap info in the file. The technique I used relys on a simple fact that most folks don't realize: when you use an adjustment layer, PS creates a "vitual" copy of the layer(s) below and then does it's thing to the "virtual" copy. This is why Adjustment Layers are non-destructive: you are not actually HARMING any pixels.
So, I choose EXPOSURE (mainly because in itself it is a usually HORRIBLE way to adjust exposure in PS, and therefore I know when I see it's ICON in the layer palette it means I'm up to one of my tricks ) and then when the dialogue box opens I don't do anything but click OK. Again: do NOTHING to the settings, just say OK to the zero settings. PS then creates a "virtual" copy of the lower layer(s) and then I can change the blend settings for my "virtual" layer to my heart's content. And I'm not using anymore actual pixels so the file size stays as lean as can be.
BIG bonus, any changes I make below the above adjustment layer automatically adjusts in real time. If the above layer was a bitmap copy, you'd have to start all over again!
Okay - I hope that explains this trick.

Cool tip, Reindude.
I've no idea what this means but the water glass is more interesting than any upcoming sources.
(Sure hope I didn't take SPLODGE'S idea!)

(excellent - now we just gotta talk about that edge where the fluid top touches the side of the glass and goes BEHIND Stewie's legs... but perhaps no one will notice! )
(OKAY - NOW they'll notice )
(I DO love you, Ms. Eve - in a strictly priest-like way)
(no - THAT doesn't sound GOOD)
(love... as in a brotherly, supportive, and totally none sexual way)
(though I DON'T have to be less sexy to do that, you know)
(do I?)
*runs off looking for MEDs*
