He's just using the yellow blob as an example.
I don't think he really has a problem selecting from that particular Image.

Thanks for pointing that out Very Happy

I hate to say this out loud...but....when i first started using the pen tool.....i would clclclclcclcclclclck click the hell out of it. My image i was cutting out would have about a million dots going around it...Actually worked pretty good with a mask. Laughing .... I still do it on bushes in the BG and hair.
It's a pain in the ass to learn...and you'll never OWN it.. Confused ...but....it's a important tool. If your doing something like the example...Color Select is the shit. YEAH DONNIE..Cool

Years ago one Day one of my first Illustrator class in college the teacher says ....."Learn the pen tool.......love the pen tool ...or your work will eventually die from lack of use of the pen tool!"

Now we all know ""NOW" that that last comment just wasn't right ..........
.....But every freaking night for an hour or two after that first day of school, I would simply work w the pen tool. And yes it was challenging, frustrating and at times just down right boring (all that clicking and clicking)!!!!

Here's my point: what a great fundamental tool to have when just starting to work with PS or Illustrator......... One of the best tips a teacher ever gave me!!!!

Good luck ......and don't zig when ya shoulda zagged!!!!
Bwaahahahaha.....I crack myself up!

Am I Mental?
