I think its time for a Chop Olympics!

We'll divide by our countries, square off in a H2H type tournament... and may the best Nation win!

I was thinking
we could do 6 Teams:
Canada
US
S. America
United Kingdom
Central Europe
Australia or the Pacific Theatre
(this is one of the things I want you to help with)

maybe have individual events with everyone participating for their country.

speed event
doubles event
gif event
portrait event
landscape event
space event
water event
cartoon event

either just straight up bracket system like a NCAA tournament.
or do a playoff... each Nation against each other Nation once... tally up all the votes for each team

a win gets you 1 point, losses gets 0.
The country or team with the most points at the end is the greatest. and gets all the bragging rights till the next tournament....
I look at this like a PSC scavenger hunt game or the H2H. Something for fun, as a side project. Nothing permanent. Nothing taking away from the dailies. BUT maybe an annual thing if its received well.

I also think someone who's set up the H2H's or other should prob take control over the logistics.

so... what do you guys think? I'd like all opinions for and against. any suggestions on how to do this are welcome. please refrain from flaming the thread, if you don't like the idea. express it respectfully.

I'd like to see the same number of people on each team. so maybe we'll need some illegal aliens.

Sha-dude, i love ya man....but this is a bad idea. It will just divide what little unity we do have here. We could use some more RESPECT for each other instead of something to divide everyone. I know it's just for fun...but i also know that something with a simple innocent intention can soon turn to a big smelly mess of dung around here quick.

Even in the Olympics we don't compete against these countries we have the Olympics for the Small Nations........Has anyone looked at the map lately? Did you see the size?

I'll try to keep a running total. I'd also like for everyone to vote. yes or no. that should help the determining factor of if this will fly or not.

Couldn't disagree more dew'd. Otherwise this argument would shoot down the actual Olympics, the Ryder Cup, etc, etc. I see nothing wrong with national pride in a game like this. I'm fully aware and able to admit that there's a TON of "foreigners" who kick ass in this arena.

Plus the game would get us away from all the negativity flowing around here and back into focusing on the chopping.

By the way, I know of a way to get rid of all the problems that everybody has with the nation against nation thought.


We need 5 (if there are 5 teams) or a double of that number CHAMPIONS, who can come forward and pick their battle homeground. And then - their effords will be judged.

Now all we need is to put together a jury, and we are set for the olympics

This is a uniquely global website, I would love to really know where everyone is from. As long as we can divide it right it should work.

It should be fun but Europe and Canada would be hard to beat!

I never implied it would be easy for the United States... I thought that would be part of the challenge. I was up for it. Though, my money would be on either the UK or Canada.

Maybe we should just have a team chop as AJ suggests... and forget the borders, and we'll make our own?
