Hi
I need help. I was wondering something...how can I get a texture skin look alike? Usually at work a have a lot of really bad photos of happy woman faces and they are so scrambled that everything I can do to them is to soften skin with blur and clone tool. But in the end they look fake and plastic. I read somewhere in past that lemon or orange texture is good for simulating skin pores , but I can't find tutorial for that. Filters like noise and texture in PS doesn't do the trick.
Any suggestions?

Leather looks just like skin if you can find some good pics of it

so you just overlayed leather over skin or what because whatever I do it just looks strange in the end

If I needed a piece of skin, I would go online and find a photo of a person, use a good part of their skin that suits my chop.

Depending on how much skin you need, there will always be plenty photos online.

And changing colour and use burn etc. will help you adjust the skin tone for you.

To get an almost exact effect as Eve's tut easily.. duplicate the image onto a new layer- open in "pattern maker" filter, select a small area of nice skin, and run through pattern maker at different settings till you nail exactly what ya need as a texture.
Play with that layers modes, copy it, a couple times if ya have to , and try it in several modes. Anyway I usually can do this and nail exactly what I need in under ten minutes. Good Luck.
PS- to make it's color tone match evenly over all areas need, just tweak the layers with saturation adjustments..which will work extremely well since the texture/patterned layer is made up of all the same 'exact' colors of the original image's skin.
