Sorry but I gotta rant here.
For the last month I've been swamped with working on a catalog for work. I've been pulling together images and text to pass onto the "graphic designer" putting the page layouts together.
The other day she emails me about a tif file. Wants to complain about 2 things. First "why did you make the file so that it opens with Quicktime?" And second "plus the colors are all off" (the pic is in CMYK not RGB and Quicktime doesn't know what to do with CMYK).
So I let that one go. But today another "graphic designer" for a different publisher has come along and she doesn't know how to handle layers, tif formats, and also doesn't know about CMYK.
How can you work in a print and/or graphics industry (and supposedly have a degree in the field) and NOT know about these things?!?
I'm a noob at this stuff and I seem to know more than these two combined!
[ end rant ]
