i can't seem to figure out why there is a wierd yellow outline on everything when there isn't supposed to be an outline at all Confused Confused (it happens to all objects, not just text)

for some reason if the object is black and i add an outline in registration color, the yellow thing doesn't happen.....

is there some magic property or something i'm missing here? is it a mysterious bug?

this is very annoying Mad at first i thought i'm imagining things

all help will be apreciated, thanks.

*i'm using illustrator CS3 on windows xp

I don't know about Illustrator, but you can set "stroke" (and other layer properties) in Photoshop to affect ALL layers under that step. (I don't remember what it's called; I don't have PS on this computer.) REINMAN showed me that neat trick during our COOLaboration partnership a couple of years ago.

Seems to be a bug in how AI renders antialiased edges against a dark background in CMYK mode. It looks OK in RGB mode.

Illustrator, RGB mode

Illustrator, CMYK mode (default)

Illustrator, CMYK mode, antialiasing turned off

*another edit

it's really weird, i printed in school, from a pdf file. on the screen everything looked fine but on paper the yellow stroke appeared (but only on certain elements, not on everything)

although the dusty old printer at school in no indication to anything.... i guess i'll have to see what happens when i print it in a normal place....

i'll also try to find a teacher that knows about these things.... but you guys here probably know more than any of the teachers at my school....
