Absolutely love your picture story, MG!!!!!!!!!
Similar Warm Greetings from sunny southwest Florida.
I'm shivering in my winter attire.... shorts and bathingsuit top...
sorry, but I can't post photos yet , still a newbie here.
I'm dealing with the weather the best I can. Drinking lots of cold beverages.
Yesterday I had to sweep the driveway to clear it.......

just a little follow up to show you how much strain these Georgia storms can put on your machines....
Not to worry though. We are used to these type of storms in our area. That is why they say around here "paradise comes with a price" so I was prepared for this.
and was back up and running in no time.
Time is critical in these situations so we must be prepared

What they ALL said, MG.
Well, I'm afraid this blog is coming to a close for now. Over 2000 views... I'll take that!
I'm off to the SOUTH (a place called, ironically, WHITE ROCK. I'm recording a band down there with my 24-track over the next few days. So there's snow there: WHITE And we'll be rocking: ROCK. White
Rock.
How could it get any funner!? Perhaps I'll have a RockBlog when I get back. Or perhaps I'll have a HIDEOUS HEADACHE? Only time will tell.
Anyway, what an end to 2008, and what a start for 2009.
Happy HAPPY, everyone. Thanks for keeping me "company" over the hellidays!

Thoroughly entertained by ReinMan's (and others) mis-adventures in weather .. this New York Times story caught my eye, about a clever gent who didn't panic during the recent east coast ice storm, but used his Prius to generate power to see him through.
What a sharp, quick-witted, brilliant, savvy thing to do.
Just like ReinMan. we do luvs ya! RM

Howdy Folks!
I've been recording a band in a sea-side town about an hour from my home... we've been going for three days and working VERY hard to record 6 songs.
Finally finished today in the evening and when I go outside to drive home to my lonely wife... well, you'll never guess what was happening:
SNOW FRICKIN STORM!!!!
I am trapped here in WHite Rock, British Columbia, at a friends house. I'm hoping to go home tomorrow.
Help Help!!!!!
P.S. the snow does not seem as much fun anymore...

If I remember right the "coolness" of snowing is that you have to be at home to enjoy it. The minute you get stuck away from home and are trying to GET home.......it ain't "cool" anymore.
The other downfall is washing the salt off your car for 5 minutes.
Have a safe trip and take lot's of pictures!!! I'm still enjoying it
BUT.....
i'm not stuck in it.....

Aw, poor ReinDude.... my heart - and flannel shirt and coat and extra pair of socks goes out to you, along with my sympathy. And for your poor lonely wife, who has nobody - that is, no WARM body - to snuggle with.
I hope you get home soon and safely, and warm up.
Sorry to rub it in, but great job, MG, love your pix! We're gonna get another cold front down here in swFlorida....... we may get a little rain first (which we need) and then the temperatures are going to plummet back down to the low 50s overnight. Brrrrrrrrrrr, I'll be wearing my flannel shirt!
Hey, ReinWife.... please have some hot cocoa and warm cookies ready to go along with
your own warmth for your honey.

Thanks Pearlie and you be careful of the southern ice with those plumeting temperatures. When I was first reading your post I thought "why does Pearlie own a flannel shirt" and then when I got to the part about your "inclement weather" I realized that old saying we say here in Georgia....."Paradise comes with a price" and realized that doubles for you. Make sure you put on your flannel shirt if you go out and don't forget to wear your "special weather" shoes too!

Howdy kids!
MindClaf, you are SO right about that: inside looking at the snow is good. Being OUTSIDE looking at an INSIDE you can't get into kinda SUCKS! (sounds a bit like dating, but I'll leave that topic for another time )
Got home in one piece. Left for home at 5:30AM hoping to beat the NORMALLY INSANE VANCOUVER TRAFFIC, but it seems everyone else had the same BRILLIANT idea.
There were some crazy patches where the ice just didn't seem to line up with the highway, but I got home with only a few life-threatening moments. I'm in my robe (Don't worry girls, I've got the front pulled closed up to my neck ) and I've got a cup of warm cocoa in my hand.
I feel really sad that the road situation was so bad - there was some AMAZING "wet snow" vistas and views on the way home. But there was A) no place to pull over to stop and take a picture B) no way I was gonna drive and try shooting like I did the other day.
So... maybe once the sun come up (HE LAUGHS UPROARIOUSLY!) I can get a few shots to show you guys the ugly mess that is my home town (that I'm so glad to be back in!).

Yes congrads on your attentive driving skills and good to see your home and on top of it nothing sounds better after a grueling ride like that than to be home in your "closed" robe with a warm cup of something (be careful if you have prepared anything for a doctor appointment) and just relaxing. Soon wifey will be home and probably flourish you with hot foods and a back rub and then tuck you in bed (sorry about the typo).
Glad your home Meestor Reindude!!
Now...snap some pics....hahaha j/k. Rest....
