We're a little bit below Durham but my neighbor decided to make lemonade out of lemons. We don't get snow here and my daughter has never seen it (she's and neither has my neighbors son who is 5 so he got up at 2:00 saturday morning and tried to make his own snow due to our drop in temperature. Although it was a prototype job he got all the bugs out around 6 and actually produced some. Here is a link to his mah-vo-lus invention. And yes....a snowman (Georgia style) was born....

Pearlie wanted me to post these so you all could see what snow fun in the South is like.
First, there's no tubin' like snow tubin' with a good brew in hand
And here the two of us go off downhill on typical "Florida" style sleds-good for summer as well as winter use.

MG - that is frickin AMAZING and RATHER SILLY! But once again it shows American Ingenuity at work!
Al? I suspect there was some CHOPPIN in those pictures of you and your sweety? Yah? I thought so!
Tesore? That was, and shall remain, even MORE SILLY!
Okay - I've been busy with House Guests (actual humans, not bugs). So I'm a bit behind here. At this point I think I may need to change the name of this thread to the
- - - - - - - - - - - - - FOGBLOG
Previously mentioned house guests can be seen here being STALKED by the HIDEOUSLY ALL-REACHING NEVER-SURRENDERING MISTS o' th' LAKE!!!
That is How Sound behind them and the EEEEEVIL FOG can be seen attempting to sneak up on them from behind. Remember kids: fog is dangerous, but it is also a COWARD!!
In town, this morning, the town was in the TERRIBLE GRASP of the FRIGHTENING FOG! (hey, I'm just trying to add a little "colour" here, folks. Gimme a break! )
You've heard of Guerrillas in the Mist? Here are DUCKS IN THE FOG!!!
The fog held tight to our ports and lower rivers - making quite a soup of things in the morning... (those are boats and barges and other sea-going stuff... it's hard to get the scale of anything in the MISTS of DECEPTION!

This Wacky Fog
(which is NOT snow, to be sure, but is just as troublesome at times)
From farther up the lower slopes of the mountain you can look down on the main part of North Vancouver. That is part of the city center off to the left part of the picture. Then behind that you see the SEA OF FOG that basically goes between the Vancouver area and Vancouver Island, many many many kilometers away!
(see BIG image HERE)
If you look in the upper RIGHT part of the photo (just under the telephone wires) You'll see a MYSTERIOUS BLACK ARTIFACT!!
Well, that is actually DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER, across the Burrard Inlet, and it is the only building tallest enough to get above the ADVANCING WALL OF MIST!!!! (below is a crop in on the original full size file)
(see BIG image HERE)
Somewhere, somehow, underneath ALL THAT NUMBINGLY FOGGY MIST is a CITY!!!!! I know!!!!! It boggles the mind (specially if that mind has NOT had their morning cup of COFFEE! )
So bottom line: if you are the BOTTOM of the mountain, or basically at sea-level, you are living in SOUP... murky smudgy mind-sucking froth that threatens your sanity at EVERY TURN.
The up-side of this? If you are living UP the mountain side a bit you get a VERY wonderful sunset... with Vancouver Island off in the background and all the evil-doers of Vancouver downtown BURIED in RIGHTEOUS FOG!!!!
(see BIG image HERE)

Don't want to complain but since Reinweatherdude started this thread we have experience the worst weather here in Burlington in decades. Frigid weather, freezing rain, snow, more snow and guess what more snow. Please stop Rein or I'll have to take drastic measures.

At least, with it being this cold, you guys don't have to put up with the smell blowing in from Hamilton as much!

Oh, God help me if that white crap comes this far south!!!
Hell, I don't even want to budge outside today and it's not even really going to be cold until tomorrow! It's just that.... well, the sun's NOT shining, and it looks all yucky out there. Last night we had a little bit of preliminary rain before our next expected chill, so everything's wet - and it's GRAY out.
Call me when the clouds are gone........... I'll be under the covers...
