Can anyone tell me the best way to Select/cut out parts of an image that are very fine? Like the picture for the comp on the 25th (Dandy Shedding)
For carps sake people.
The thing blends into the background. Forget
cutting the whole thing out. Cut out the few bits that are not difficult to cut out, then replace the difficult parts from other images found on the Googlinator. That thing CAN'T be extracted or cut out cleanly.
Yup... I really REALLY hate to admit it, but Scion's got a point (and if he wears a hat he can cover it up!!
- sorry
)
I know of about 10 or more different ways to "remove the background" in PS. And none of them are going to work completely in this case. The background is fuzzy bits of the forground. If you really really want to do the closest thing to removing the background do what someone has already said and take the best bits you can and then create the fuzzy bits by hand. But overall I'll recommend you just put this particular image down, walk away, find a nice pint o' suds, and move onto the next 29 choices you have to chop from.
P.S. do NOT use the pen tool on this particular picture unless you are a serious SERIOUS masochist!!!
