BurlingtonBoy: I'm an artist - I'm not recycling. I'm making a STATEMENT. And, like any self-respecting (yes, there are some) artist the statement is... er, um.. well, ah
WELL IT IS AN IMPORTANT STATEMENT LET ME ASSURE YOU!!!!
OK...that's cool.

I've received a GREAT MANY LETTERS of CONCERN over the current state of our weather here in the Vancouver area of Canada. Thank you for your caring and throughtful comments - it has helped my wife and I deal with these sometimes TERRIFYING circumstances.
Sorry for keeping you all in a FOG - but I guess I should let you all know that, as of yesterday, the sun came out.
I had the crap scared out of me this morning. Went for a walk and I was SURE someone was following me. Turned out it was this thing called a "shadow"
Hope you all, wherever you are, are being terrorized by your own shadows!!

Amazing that I get this blogwatch notice... just this morning I was telling a girlfriend that I've been exercising with about your North Vancouver weather, how dreary it is, the cold, the snow, the fog... because she's contemplating moving north to Pittsburg, PA... and said that THEY only get about a month of nice weather....... (but after her guy retires, they'll move back to Florida)
I don't think I could deal with that, being a native Floridian.
So, here's some sunshine to all of you that have to endure those horrible conditions. This coming week we'll have temps in the upper 70s, but then on Thursday only 70 or so and on Friday morning we'll wake up to 47 degrees! OMG, I'll have to cover my plants again - what a pain-in-the-butt chore.

Yay! Sunshine! The snow is melting! 'Bout time, too.. You know that late winter snow that's been on the ground for weeks... it has slightly melted and refrozen several times, so it has that hard, icy top that you think will support your weight, and you precariously slip and slide along, then your feet suddenly fly out from under you and you fall rather ungraciously on your butt-- and break right through that slippery, icy crust to the styrofoam-textured mush below? Yeah, well, that is finally melting! Yay sunshine!!

OH, YEAH ------------ THAT sounds like big fun, sign me up!
NOT.
Seriously, tho, you have my sincere sympathy - all who have to deal with that for months on end. yuck.
I have to go out (in my shorts and tanktop) to cover my delicate plants with sheets for a few nights.
It's supposed to drop to the 40s here for awhile.
p.s. - congratulations on enjoying your sunshine and shadows!!! yayyyyy
