I want to know how to take a picture and "wrap" it around a round object (like a planet or ball). Is there a fish eye lens effect in CS3? Is there a tutorial that covers this topic?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

filter/distort/spherize
is sometimes enough to do what you are looking for.

here is an example of it here.

If you have the extended version of photoshop you can use 3D to create this effect. But the 3D-tools in photoshop is still rather bad and should be still in BETA-version if you ask me.
Confused

You COULD go Old School with it:

A) print out a photograph of image you want to wrap.

B) have 3D object ready in left hand.

C) take printed image in right hand and physically wrap it around 3D object.

D) take camera and photograph wrapped 3D object.

E) have a beer.

(though this WILL work in a pinch, you might be better off listening to ANYONE else other than me, in this case. Wink )
