I thought I would turn this thread into something useful.
After a contest, if you received comments on your image telling you what is wrong with it, place it here and let people fix it. It is a good learning process.
I started with my H2H entry.
Please don't be proud. Let people help you improve. We can all get better.


Comment 1: shadows need work but very cool dog !!
Thought: he must have a bad monitor

Comment 2: Nice. Shadows=off. But, Nice.
Thought: Wise guy

Comment3: the lighting is a disaster zone (contextually of course)
Thoughts: These people don't know what they are talking about!

Comment4: Very poor shadows
Thought: really?

Comment5: The shadows are not your best
Thought: I suck!!!
(Tries to slit wrist with an electric shaver. Ends up with a really bad rash....and bad shadows. )

I would like people to take my image and fix it. Do the shadows right so I see what I am not seeing. I know the work around the feet sucked. It looks cut-out, but I didn't notice it until I posted it and it was too late. It killed me every time I looked at it but I couldn't do anything about it. Besides that I was happy with it. The shadow wasn't great, But I didn't think it was horrible. Please help.

I'm no shadow-critiquer, but it might help to get your PSD, if possible... Well, I'd be interested anyway. That was one well-bred dog!

but i was just for the feet ... the rest of the shadowwork is ok ... but the feet are somewhat floating ... and a good thing is ... you noticed yourself

Man I thought the picture was awesome. When I read all the shadow comments I tried to slit my wrist with an electric razor too because I thought you nailed it. Can I hire a shadow expert to check my next photo before I enter?
