I'm liking Claf's 2nd edit to what vok did. I think the area immediately next to the paws should still be sharper and darker, to match the darkest areas in the shades of the glove dog/shaded finger on glove. That was give the proper grounding, which was my biggest issue with the shadows.

Nobody noticed the right eye-ball? Or am I seeing it wrong? 
It doesn't have an eye-lit.

This is fun fixing the images. We should do this more often. Lets all work on Marco stuff. That should keep us busy for a while.  
I think Marco should volunteer his card dealer image here for some fixin'

Dammit! yall need the psd file, I scrapped it. Shit! I just cleaned out my desktop last night and got rid of it. Nevermind. here's the jpg of it.

Too much black. The bright red dress would reflect color off of the hand. You also could have adjusted the color of the hand to fix the bad pixelating.
You could also change the dress a bit so it looks like it is stretching towards the hand.
