Ernie Barnes, a former pro football player who switched to painting full time after his sports career ended, died Monday night at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

He is PROBABLY best known for the painting shown at the beginning of the show, Good Times.

BUT....BUT....i could have swore i saw J.J. paint them.

Funny when you think about all the things that are faked on TV....they actually used a REAL ARTIST work for JJ's painting scenes.

The art used in the show, use to blow me away even as a child. He could make you feel the atmosphere from the scene he was painting. One of my fav is this one.

Just the way he is holding the stick, lets you know this guy was about to hustle your last dollar. Those who grew up around a pool hall, know what i'm talking about.

Sad to hear. The guy was original, and very talented to say the least.
