Chop, Chop, Chop. Another word for cutting, slicing, breaking apart. If we didn't have computers, I'd be chopping up photos with scissors from magazines, newspapers, and photographs to make a collage. I hate chopping, to tell you the truth, when I'm straining my eyes to focus on cutting out the outside edge of an object so I can use the object in my project.

I think if memory serves me correct the term was created on this very site all them years way way back in the day...if one of the founding members can check that, but Im sure it started here at PSC

so founder of chop is a member o psc. i got rumour that chop came from photoshop=photochop

Yep it was used in an interview way back when and the term was used as Photochopping...will ask one of the longer term members than me to validate that story but....

Yep it was used in an interview way back when and the term was used as Photochopping...will ask one of the longer term members than me to validate that story but....
I thought it came about on PSC when Adobe started bitching about people referring to image manipulations as "photoshopping". They posted a bit about the proper use of their trademark and a PSC forebearer came up with "chopped/chop" as an alternative phrase?
I could be wrong (again).

I'm not responsible for it, but if it were me, it would have most certainly have been a mis-type as I am a master at bad typing.

Yup - the "cut up and put back together" theory is correct.
And "chop" does rhyme with "shop", so if anyone was ever silly enough to write a song about CHOPPING, they would have less trouble with the lyrics.
Okay - now someone can explain STFUAC to our new friend!

All you need to do is bury yourself in a nice, warm pile of meat between two fresh, hot buns. Add your favorite sauce and other toppings, and then you'll be a hero.
(Oh, and Google is amazing. First page results gave me that very fitting image...didn't even have to do any chopping.)
