Ok so I have a nice fresh install of Windows 7 and Ps CS3 will not let me open ANY PSD files."Could not complete your request because of a program error"

Has anyone else had this problem or anything like it? If so... any solutions??

Thanks in advance

Dannyboy.

I just had problems with CS4 and the op 10.6 it screwed up after effects bad and then caused the HD to crash. 48 hours later and back to 10.5 and everything is just dandy. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I'm still using the Release Candidate of 7, but I haven't had any trouble with PS for the past few months I've used 7.

Helped me. Shocked

With the birthday and Christmas coming up I was thinking of telling people I only want cash to go towards a Windows upgrade. Hated Vista with a passion but I'm hearing/reading that 7 is Vista with all the crap removed.

So 7 must be 7 pounds of crap in a 5lb bag while Vista was 27 pounds in a 5 lb bag. Laughing

I went from Vista to 7 ultimate and I'm REALLY pleased with it, it's faster, less greedy for ya ram and it looks better too. My only qualm was my lack of psd use in PS CS3 I have however corrected this by spending money and buying CS4... all works nicely now.

I would recommend 7 over Vista any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I just installed the masters collection on my windows 7 machine with no trouble at all. The only thing that I recommend before installing a newer version of whatever adobe software is to uninstall the old one first and make sure to clear all the files left on the installation folder. I use CCcleaner for this, deletes all those pesky .dll files left from the uninstaller. Some old left over will cause problems, for me it was the software key from the old that was causing an expired key error. CCcleaner deleted the old files from the registry and all is well now.

WIll back Oscar on the CCleaner (CrapCleaner, as we called it) thing. When I was a PC dude, that applicationn really was good to have - and used it often to keep my PC from gumming up too badly.

Okay - I'll go away now... Razz
