I want to buy CS4. I'm afraid that this is a scam. What do you think.

I read up and saw this in a forum.
Total scam, got the email today... the 877 number they list says the number is "temporarily suspended" All the protection logos on their site is just one picture, and it doesn't link to verify, they also list their address on a jpg. Making it tedious to copy and paste for a google search, but after a google search, that building does not exist on texas st, in fairfield, california. Also always be hesitant when a company who sells products list a "testimonials" section and they are ridiculously complimentary. Who would really compliment a software company for being professional? Plus you will never get 80% off on Adobe software, I promise you, If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Not sure if its a scam or not.
One of my friends found what looked like a legit web site that was selling the whole CS4 master collection for £50, when he got it it was a copy but installed correctly and he is still using it now.
If you dont mind using dodgy copies of software then give it ago but otherwise steer clear.

Rey, you'd probably get exactly what Sonic mentioned: a pirated copy. I did some research on this for a friend a while back (sadly I now pay for my apps since I ask clients to pay ME for my work - my days of wild pirateing have passed me by now, it seems...).
Small companies in the orient bang out millions of copies of software (along with the crack code to make it work on your system) and then pass the savings along to YOU. They use US of A addresses and what-not in an attempt to look more "above board".
Some of these companies are a bit more legit, as they use OEM (forget that that means exactly, but basically the "bundled software" that comes with computers that large companies use) versions of the application. These vesions don't require the "call in and activate" protection thing (you wouldn't want 2000 GOOGLE employees all calling ADOBE the same day to activate their copies of Photoshop!) so that gets around the "crack" issue. In the end, there is still a parrot and eyepatch involved.
Again, this is the best understanding I have of it at this point.
*edit* and it looks like this particular site is a far from honest at any level. (I mean your SOFTWARE PROVIDER site, Rey. Not (heaven's forbid) this fine site of ours here.
