I'm not arguing with you Rey, I have not entered any on those contests myself, but somebody has to like them to keep voting them in. Maybe we should submit more non-stone-statue source photos to combat this trend.

And how long will it take for the images to be in the voting queque. I have one that's approved and waiting for it for almost 2 years....

If you go to the voting section and add up the votes of all the posted section they seldom add up to 30 so it does not take many votes to get an image in. When you consider that the submitter probably votes for his/her photo there goes 5 votes from the total. So if you have five voters with a stone fetish well there you is, a stone chop.

In all seriousness (sorry BlueLurker, part of my new job description here , gotta get serious once in a while), the image-queue is a f*cking m*ss. Some of us MODs are pretty much beside ourselves trying to come to grips with it.
Once we members vote something into the system the SYSTEM takes over and it appears to be a BLACK BOX automated system and therefore ANYTHING seems to come out of it. We are not short on photos. We are short on control. This is something that PROC needs to handle - as has been stated ad nauseum here before, we lowly MODs can do little more than get frustrated along with you. Or, in my case, NOT get frustrated along with you.
