SCWID, that is awesome! I really enjoyed reading this thread. I have to admit, I never gave a thought to looking through my lens the "wrong-way" around. I do own a 'light weight' macro lens already. I might look into the e-bay option sometime for my other lens(es). Never knew that existed. Thanks!

no prob.. i enjoy doing things like that, its fun.

the lens i really want costs a grand and only good to shoot 8 inches away, so i will stick with the modded lens for now..

i plan on 2 or 3 lens purchases that should cover me, but those are a while away as of yet..

Get some two part epoxy, and re-glue it.
I guarantee the hot glue is going to drop your lens.
It's not if, but when.

Thanks for the tip..... but
that is actually why I used hot glue, because it is reversible without a whole lot of trouble.

when im shooting macros though, i tend to keep my hand on the lens at all times because im aware of hotglue. I used it a lot in the furniture industry for 15 years almost on a daily basis.

they tried to force us to use some liquid glue that had a smell and would not hold until you held it for like 15 minutes... i went into the owners office and told him unless he planned on raising my piece rate by 500% or hiring 5 extra people to "hold the product in place" while it set up.. i wasnt going to use it because it made me high and costed me money (by slowing down a piece rate worker).... both of which are glue related huffing symptoms. Probably the same kind you prefer rein.. Surprised

the wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwworst part of my glue usage are my wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww seems to stick once in s wwwwwwwwwwwwwhile
