Crashed my FF browser.

really? I use FF. how's your RAM in that thing?

4GB (3GB usable with 32-bit OS).
not sure why...

32-bit os only recognizes 3.5GB of ram, need that 64-bit to do more .

Yes, I am running 10.5.8 and all I get is a pink square . . . . . BAH!

I wish this guy would release it as a Photoshop plug in. It would be so sweet to paint in smoke on a layer . . .

I've been running it on two machines both using Safari. One under 10.5.8 and a laptop under 10.6.2. Like Rey said, I too couldn't get it to save a hi-res file under 10.5.8 but it saves those just fine under 10.6.2 on My Macbook Pro.

YPA, try installing or updating your Mac to the latest Java J2SE Apple has available for 10.5.8. Here''s the link.

As for other practical uses for this NIFFTY little cloud application that Sean brought us, I've been using it successfully to generate some very interesting Alien Sound Effects by first converting the images to a spectrogram, and then tweaking the result output as needed.

Thank you again Sean. Very happy with this app ... Very Happy

The key to getting long sweeping swaths is you can get the cursor swinging before you press the mouse button.

Thanks, Bob, but when I tried to install this my machine told me I was already running the latest and greatest. Guess I'll just have to wit until he fixes the bug.

Cool Tofu!

As an alternate practical use for Flame, here's how I'm using it:

First I make a simple image.

Then I turn it into a spectrogram, from which I create a mono track sound file.

Then I tweak and heavily manipulate the basis mono sound file into a richer, more usable sound as a background Alien SFX.

Very Happy

That's freaky cool! Cool

Hey.... how do you turn the flame pic into a spectrogram, etc., etc., etc.?

You mean you want my secret sauce recipe? Sound Design is a black art. Easy to show, hard to explain. There are tons of apps involved before I'm ultimately satisfied. Sometimes I use eight to ten different sound apps or other, depending on where I want a sound to go. For a beginning explanation go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrogram
