There's some critters in the photo for May 6th (I think)
Are they squirrels?
I have never seen them, but then you may not have koalas, wombats or platypus at your place

I'm not sure what they are either, but they are definitely not squirrels. Maybe the Americans/Europeans will enlighten us?

Try Meercats, as in Meercat Mansion.
Wrong setting though, these critters are African bush dwellers.
God knows what they're doing up a Fir tree!

If there's two of them, do you say 'mongeese'?

The Yellow Mongoose (Cynictis penicillata), sometimes referred to as the Red Meerkat, is a small mammal averaging about 1 lb (1/2 kg) in weight and about 20 in (500 mm) in length. A member of the mongoose family, it lives in open country, from semi-desert scrubland to grasslands in Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.
Not sure what's up with the pine trees though. Kinda interesting that their pupils of the eyes appear to be horizontally rectangular.

who the hell cares what they're called. Just stick their head on a body like everyone else does.

I literally searched through the taxonomy database for an hour and a half. The Yellow Mongoose was the closest I could find, but it just didn't seem to be close enough. Needless to say, I know a lot of weird animals now and there's no doubt that we are speaking of a yellow mongoose. :phew:

BTW bigbuck, came across this in the search.
"A yellow mongoose group is called a 'mongeese or mongaggle'."
However, mongeese are often referred to as "mongooses."

Weird fact: Hyenas are closer to mongeese than to dogs. They are actually in the feline family rather than the canine family. Crazy, eh?

Rett, thanks that is great info if you're interested in animals and insects etc as I am. Clearly Eve is not. Takes all types I guess.Call it pictorial education.
However it IS necessary for me to know in this case. or I would not have asked.

That's called humor, Claude Edwards...something not often found around here these days...
I'm sorry if your idea was to actually place the critter's head on a man's body.
