BB,you have every right to comment and express your opinion w/o doing any chops... Subjective artistic value judgements and artistic expression are not necessarily directly proportional.In other words, you don't have to be an artist to be an art critic.Not that you aren't an artist,simply that there is no law that says you must be in order to have a personal criteria that places a subjective value on a given work of art.As a matter of fact most respected art critics are not great artists.And a lot of artist are terrible art critics.Art is subjective and thus is judged within the context of a personal "subjective" value system.Art is not an exact science.Thus the appreciation or not of art like beauty or ugliness is in the eye of the beholder,any beholder (artist or non-artist).
BTW to clarify,this holds true only if you consider photomanipulation as an art form and not as an exact science...
