I agree with vokaris and shaman. The refelction was squished. The shadow had some weird things going on.
The edge of the big shadow dircectly under the ant is crisp in some areas and very soft in other areas.

I am no where near a shadow expert (like marco *cough*), but that's what I saw.

Good luck in the next round!

Thank you Azionite! See my edited reflection! I dont' know if it's correct.

Refection is much better!
The shadow directly under the ant is still a problem. Look directly under the back of the ant. The shadow there is very feathered, but the rest of the shadow is not. (In real life, that part would actually be a bit sharper because that part of the ant is closer to the ground). I *think* it would look better if all edges of the shadow were feathered like that one area.

Okay! I see. I'll be fixing it as soon as I can. Big Thanks to your input.

What AZ said.
Reflection is 100% better.
the shadow (esp the darker area) seems off now. seems like it should be more under the ant.

who cares though. fantastic creation.

Wew! Thanks a lot!

With this angle, here is the simple solution (not that I know any better). Duplicate the layers of the ants legs and flip them verticaly. Put them behind actual legs. Legs in the back make slight darker (hue saturation for example) merge those layers, add a little blur (this was gaussian), erase a bit reflection at the end...It's doesn't look perfect(far from it) but at least it is quick Smile

Thank you BSMatic. Your image is way better than mine. I see it now. I will be studying reflection more. Well thank you very much for your help!
