JeanValjean is right. This site IS falling apart! It stops being fun when you are insulted and misrepresented and no one hardly even shows up to enter or vote in the contests anyway.
I'm going to back out of this thread now so that you guys can finish your political circle jerk.

That's a rate of .0033. The rate for the U.S. is .0045.
Active military - 1,430,895

Okay, and how many smart bombs and navel vessels and what kind of NSA?
Come on man. Overthrowing the US government isn't even feasible, hardly. At least not by popular uprising. And besides that, our local police departments are paramilitary units.
I was just explaining the reasoning behind the second amendment. It's no gaurantee of security against our own government. But it is a factor. And no one wants to invade this country full of gun totin' individualistic mass of self righteousness.

The second amendment was written shortly after overthrowing an oppressive government that ruled from a distance during a time when information traveled slowly. It applied to a completely different world, and is no longer relevant. The founding fathers had the foresight to make the constitution a living document, so it could adapt to a changing world. They did not write it thinking a single person could kill large numbers of people in minutes with only one weapon.

I thought the same, but had to check in on my last comment.
When I'm down or just tired of the the same real world bullshit, I would check in to PSC to see what crazy shit was going on.
Today I looked at the threads and wanted back to the real world.
Some members here may know I'm going through the hardest time in my life and need you GOOD guys in my life.
PSC is stronger then this, and especially this time of year.
Let's try to get along for a few more days.
Yes, the world is a piece of shit as we all know, but let's try to remember the reason we're here. If you've read this post this far you are who I'm talking to.
Let's get back to the basics of having a good time and remember....... You can never leave!

I defer to the spirit of PSC and politely agree to completely disagree with you and will fight to the death for you right to be, well... wrong.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

To answer your question 418,500. By the way 23 million Russians perished in that war. 43500 Canadians also died and considering that the US population is 10 times that of Canada poportionally more Canadians died "saving the world from Nazi Language whatever that is. 97,000 Finns also died, not that it excuses calling the USA assholes. To state that is inflamatory and so infantile that it really doesn't warrant defending or quitting the site for. Never let the facts get in the way of propogating a good fable.
The Second World War was a very interesting time in the world, you might all want to read the history. You might be surprised that there was a very strong pro Nazi faction in the US that prevented The US's involvement until attacked by the Japanese. You would be more surprised by who wre supporting this.
Yes the USA has it's share of assholes, but believe me they don't have a monopoly and far from it.
An interesting person you may also want to read about is William Stephenson -A Man called Intrepid.

I second what you just said.
I used to moderate a combat flight simulator forum. It was great fun and I had many wonderful friends on it until one foreigner from a nearby country started a political meltdown.
It killed the site, actually.
This is a photoshop art and humor site. Let's leave it at that and leave politics at the door.
No good can come of dialogues like this.
It's Christmas time.

Just a thought for the upcoming year...
I often heard people talking about liberty and freedom when they actually don't know what it is.
Wherever you come from, the liberty and freedom your society offer you is an illusion.
You just need to find your own way.
And ideally, insecurity and fear aren't part of it.
I hope our site will get better next year!
I'm not here so often, but I saw few new good members here and there... hope it will go on and on...
Have a great 2013!
